Progress: Lesson 5 / 10
Tao-Heart
Your life as a Taoist begins the day you ordain. From that point on, you have a new spiritual life. This Taoist life only ends if your Tao-Heart dies — meaning you withdraw, get expelled, or give up on your own. Some people “die” by disappearing and never returning. Some request withdrawal. Some break rules and are removed.
But if you never give up and you are never kicked out, then even when your physical body dies, you are still a Taoist. The Tao will take you to the right place after death, guiding you toward the final destination, Daai Law Tin 大羅天.
Your Tao-Heart is what makes you a Taoist.
When your Tao-Heart dies, your Taoist life ends.
Not showing up, disconnecting, or quietly fading away is also a sign that the Tao-Heart has collapsed.
Your Tao-Heart carries:
Your faith
Your focus
Your determination
Your love and care for the Tao
A newbie’s Tao-Heart is like a newborn baby — extremely fragile and easily influenced. One rude comment from an old friend, one negative opinion about your new religion, or one moment of doubt can shake your heart badly. This is why you must stay away from harmful voices, old influences, and things that pull you back to your old life.
To make your Tao-Heart strong, you need three things: trust, faith, and determination.
Trust
Trust means believing because of reasons.
You hear real stories from the lineage, you see how others overcame their problems, and you see how the Tao helped you in your own life. These experiences give you reasons to trust. Never forget the good moments. Remind yourself of the help you received. That is why you trust.
Faith
Faith means believing without needing proof.
It’s like a baby trusting its parents — no questions, no debate. Faith is an investment. The more faith you put into the Tao, the more the Tao can return to you. When the Tao sees your faith, the path will open for you.
Determination
Determination means you do not give up.
You keep trying, improving, upgrading, and pushing yourself past your limits. You aim higher and go further. You fail, then try again. This spirit is what keeps your Tao-Heart alive.
We are Taoists, and we are meant to fight evil.
A weak Tao-Heart cannot stand up to challenges.
If someone gives up from small problems, how can they handle real evil that comes to test them?
The fire in the Tao-Heart must never die.
This fire is your passion and love for the Tao.
Love is not always romance — just like how we “love” the internet, electricity, the air we breathe. We need it. We rely on it. When the WIFI dies or the power goes out, people panic.
That is the kind of love we have for the Tao.
The Tao is not a hobby or extra activity. The Tao is life.
We are a part of it, and it is a part of us.
When you have this mindset, you become unstoppable.
Your Tao-Heart becomes unbreakable, and no evil can win over you.
