Metaphysics 101

This page teaches the basics of Life (命) and Luck (運) using our system: D1 / D6 / D8, the Three Realms, and how Major Luck + Minor Luck flow into your real life.

What is Luck?

Life (命) and Luck (運) are precise terms — not vague “good or bad stuff.”

In Taoism, Life (命) and Luck (運) have clear meanings. They are not random words for “good” or “bad” events.

  • Life (命) = what is being manifested from your source.
  • Luck (運) = how that life is being delivered and carried into reality.
Simple idea: Life is what you have in your system. Luck is how smoothly it gets delivered into your real life.

2

What is Life? (命)

Manifestation: bringing what’s in pre-heaven into post-heaven reality.

Life (命 / Meng) is about manifestation — bringing what is inside your source (the pre-heaven side of you) into the post-heaven side as your “reality.”

  • Pre-heaven side: what you truly carry in your source.
  • Post-heaven side: what becomes real in your daily life.
Easy example:
  • You start with an intention (ex: “I want to cook lunch”).
  • That intention becomes a clear plan.
  • Then you do it and it becomes real.
Finish Lesson 1 first.
3

What is Luck? (運)

Luck is the delivery process — like logistics between source and reality.

Luck (運 / Wun) is the delivery process of life — like the “logistics” in between.

  • Slow luck: you can still get results, but it takes longer.
  • Bad luck: the delivery is messy, and even your thoughts/actions may keep producing bad outcomes.
  • Good luck: something good exists in your pre-heaven side, it gets delivered on time, and it manifests as a good reality.
Key point: Luck does not replace your effort — it affects how smoothly things move and arrive.

The Dimensions (D1, D6, D8)

Three stable layers in nature: pre-heaven, post-heaven yin, post-heaven yang.

There are three main stable dimensions in nature. We call them D1, D6, and D8.

  • D1 = pre-heaven (not started yet)
  • D6 = post-heaven yin (inside / mind / soul level)
  • D8 = post-heaven yang (surface / physical reality)
Cooking lunch example:
  • D1: the first spark / seed idea (“I want to cook lunch”).
  • D6: the full plan (“What should I cook? How do I do it?”).
  • D8: the physical action (you actually cook it).

These layers are like Photoshop layers — they overlap and co-exist. By reading D1, you can often predict where D8 is going. And what happens in D8 will eventually go back to D1 and become seeds for the future.

Now let’s “travel to space” to see how luck works.

Sky Realm

Yuen Sun Palace 元辰宮, your Yuen Sun 元神, and the shared Sky God 天神.

Imagine you are far away in space, looking at our Sun in D8 — glowing and bright. Now shift to D1 in that same area.

  • You see a big swirl around a purple light — this is the Yuen Sun Palace 元辰宮.
  • Around it are many “small planets.” One of them is your spiritual planet: Yuen Sun 元神 (your “Origin God”).
  • Yuen Sun is personal — every human and animal has their own.

In the center is a powerful shared force: a big purple source that acts like the “boss” of the whole system. This is what we generally call the Sky God 天神.

  • This Sky God is shared among all living beings in this world.
  • You don’t need to be in a religious sect to connect to it — it naturally exists.
  • Your Yuen Sun relies on this Sky God to transmit things down to your life.
Why this matters: Your Yuen Sun has its own “world” inside. The patterns in that world become a kind of power flow that later shapes your reality.
Finish Lesson 4 first.
6

Ground Realm

Your Ghost Altar 鬼壇 in D6, and the shared Mountain Ghost 山鬼.

Now shift back to D8 and move closer toward our world. Halfway, when the Moon comes into view, we call this area the Ground Realm.

In D6, there is a piece of “land” that belongs to you — the Ghost Altar 鬼壇 (Gwei Taan). It is like a docking station for your soul, and it’s heavily used for thinking and pondering.

  • Everyone has their own Ghost Altar.
  • It holds mental power, your negative soul, and also memories.
  • If you are actually a ghost, this area is “solid ground” for you in D6.

The shared force here (like the Sky God equivalent) is called the Mountain Ghost 山鬼 (Saan Gwei). It is not “evil dead people.” It exists as a big system formed by the reality-pattern of living beings in this world.

7

Water Realm

Cloud level is a boundary; below it feels like an ocean in the spiritual view.

From the Ground Realm, zoom out in D8 — you see outer space and the Earth below. Now descend back down like a weather balloon.

  • As you cross the cloud level, we call that the Water Realm.
  • To ghosts and spirits, the cloud layer can feel like a wall of fire and light.
  • After passing it, descending can feel like floating and sinking in water.

To humans it looks like “air.” To the spiritual side it feels like an ocean. The shared force that controls the “current” here is the River God 河神 (Hor Sun).

Luck check: If things from the Sky Realm can travel smoothly all the way down into the Water Realm and reach you, that is a sign of good delivery — meaning good luck.

Your Local System (D1 / D6 / D8)

Your energy body (Faat Sun), soul-body (Ling Sun), and physical body.

Locally, you also have D1 / D6 / D8 overlapping your body at all times.

Local D1 (Pre-Heaven):

In D1, you have an energy body / magic body called the Faat Sun 法身. It looks like a big ball of light, with a core in the center called your Heart: Faat Sum 法心.

  • The heart area is between the two nipples.
  • The energy body is about as wide as your arm span.
  • It supports focus, decision power, and turning thoughts into action.
Local D6 (Inside):

In D6, you have the soul-body called Ling Sun 靈身. This body holds your positive soul Chi and can take many forms depending on what you want to do.

  • This supports “urge to move,” drive, and getting things done.
  • Dreams and spiritual sights are in D6 (local or far away).
  • If you close your eyes and “see something,” that’s a D6 event.
Local D8 (Surface):

In D8, you have your physical body. It lets you finally act in the real world. Everything in D8 is like a vessel or shell — it depends on what’s inside (D6 and D1).

  • If a person is in a coma, the shell is there, but the inner system may not be responding.

Major Luck, Minor Luck, and Annual Luck

Delivery system vs personal system, plus the yearly flow.

Our Major Luck:

Major Luck is mainly about how the Sky God, Mountain Ghost, and River God are doing for you. If that flow is not working, then even if your Yuen Sun has “good stuff,” it may not be able to arrive and manifest well in reality.

Fan Tai Sui is one of the yearly factors related to Major Luck. You can read it here: Fan Tai Sui Page

Our Minor Luck:

Minor Luck is your personal system: your Yuen Sun, Ghost Altar, and your local energy system (D1/D6/D8).

  • Minor Luck affects your inner quality: thoughts, choices, drive, and how you create results.
  • But you still need Major Luck to deliver the “goods” smoothly and on time.

Think of it like this: you can have a great meal prepared, but you still need traffic to let it arrive.

Annual Luck:

Every year has a predictable flow in Major Luck, so we can make a spiritual forecast as a foundation. It won’t be 100% mechanically perfect — like weather forecasts, it can shift — but it is still extremely useful for planning.

  • This is why, near Chinese New Year, people pay attention to the yearly luck pattern.
  • When you understand the pattern, you can use the year more wisely.

Changing Fate with Your Hand + Putting it to Action

What you do now becomes what you live later.

You may have heard: “My fate is in my hand, not controlled by the sky.” (我命由我不由天) This is not about “fighting life” or forcing yourself beyond limits.

What it really means:
  • What you do in reality becomes what you store in your heart.
  • What you store in your heart becomes what you feed back to your Yuen Sun.
  • If you keep creating things that hurt you, your Yuen Sun receives that pattern and later produces a life you won’t enjoy.

In other words: if you don’t want a bad life later, don’t plant that from today onward.

Learning this is not something you “get” in one reading. But it also doesn’t have to be hard. With proper guidance and correction, you can master how life and luck work, and learn how to build a brighter life.

And if both Major Luck and Minor Luck are not doing well?

That’s why ordaining matters. When you ordain, you connect to a higher source that can help you overcome ordinary luck patterns and become stronger.

Good. You completed all 10 lessons in order. Now you can enter the quiz.

Next Steps

Now that you understand the foundation, do these next. The main action is the 2026 Fortune Guide. If you want to truly improve your luck long-term, the second action is to ordain.
