Progress: Lesson 8 / 10

Living the Tao (活道)

Now that you understand what cultivating the Tao means, the next step is to live the Tao. The Tao cannot be treated as a side-hobby, an extra activity, or something optional. If you treat the Tao as “extra,” the Tao will treat you as “extra.” That is why some people’s magic works only once in a while, or not at all.

The Tao is a mirror. It treats you exactly the way you treat it.

Making the Tao Your Life

How do you make the Tao your life?
First, you must see the Tao as a necessity, not a choice.
Have you truly realized how important it is?

Our disciples have witnessed many spiritual threats and dangers. They know what happens when a person becomes powerless. They have seen how ugly and terrifying the unseen world can be. Once you understand this reality, you naturally see the Tao as your lifeline — something you cannot do without.

A Taoist Is a Taoist 24/7

Living the Tao does not mean being a Taoist only when doing ceremonies or joining class on weekends.
It means you are a Taoist every hour, every minute, everywhere you go.

You carry the Tao in your speech, your behavior, your choices, your attitude, your presentation. When you talk to coworkers, friends, or strangers, the way you act can naturally inspire curiosity — and through you, others may learn about the Tao.

When you live the Tao, you become the living signage of your lineage. People can see the Tao through your actions and your energy.

The Tao Becomes a Necessity, Not a Task

When you truly live the Tao, it never feels like a burden or something you need to “make time for.”
It becomes a need — like electricity, internet, oxygen.
It becomes something you cannot function without.

Your heart shifts from “I want the Tao” to “I need the Tao.”
That is the moment you truly start living it.

Why the Tao Is Not Just for This Lifetime

In our sect, we know the Tao does much more than help us while we are alive. It is also what takes care of us when we die. Without the Tao, a dead soul becomes lost, drifting, fearful, and helpless. Once you truly understand what happens after death to people without a path, you will realize:

How can anyone dare to live without the Tao?

Those who don’t feel the need to live the Tao simply lack faith. They have not seen enough, or they do not believe enough. And remember — the Tao also chooses its people. If someone’s heart is weak, unstable, or doubtful, then the Tao does not want them either.

The Tao and You Are One

Living the Tao means you and the Tao are not separate.
It is not detachable.
It is not “optional.”
You are the Tao, and the Tao lives through you.

When you truly live the Tao, you gain the ability to use the Tao’s power to help others. You become a real representation of your lineage and your divine source.

This is the meaning of living the Tao.
