Progress: Lesson 8 / 10

Joining ACM – The Ten Precepts of the Ancestral Court

When you join the Ancestral Court (祖庭), you are stepping into a deeper level of responsibility and connection. These Ten Precepts are not rules to control you. They describe the living relationship between you and the Tao.

Think of them as reminders of how the Tao works with you, and how you should respond to the Tao in return. They show you what should never fade, never close, never stop in your life as a disciple.

1. 道光不暗 — Doe Gwong Butt Um

The Light of the Tao Never Fades

The Tao is always shining on you. Even when life feels dark or confusing, the Tao’s light is still there, guiding your path and giving you vision and strength.

Darkness does not mean the Tao is gone. It only means you need to look more carefully for the light.

2. 道門不閉 — Doe Moon Butt Baai

The Door of the Tao Never Closes

Anyone who truly seeks the Tao can enter. The door only feels closed when a person stops walking toward it.

This also means you must never let the Tao’s door close in practice. The Tao is not a business that shuts down.

3. 道緣不死 — Doe Yuen Butt Sei

The Bond with the Tao Never Dies

Your connection with the Tao is alive. You must cherish it, protect it, and strengthen it.

Work hard to maintain your affinity. Never let it weaken through neglect or laziness.

4. 道魂不滅 — Doe Wun Butt Mit

The Tao-Soul Never Extinguishes

Your Tao-soul does not die. You must keep feeding it with Tao essence.

Use what you learn. Think about the teachings. Apply them to real life.

This is how the Tao-soul stays bright and alive.

5. 道心不移 — Doe Sum Butt Yee

The Tao-Heart Never Wavers

When your heart is aligned with the Tao, doubts and temptations cannot shake you.

The Tao becomes your center. Always keep unwavering faith in it.

6. 道法不棄 — Doe Faat Butt Hei

The Tao’s Magick Is Never Abandoned

Never abandon the magick you learned from the Tao.

Practice it. Use it. Love it.

Do not let it drift away from your life.

7. 道恩不忘 — Doe Yunn Butt Mong

The Tao’s Grace Is Never Forgotten

Never forget how the Tao has helped you in the past. Bring those memories back often.

Gratitude strengthens your bond with the Tao.

8. 道業不停 — Doe Yeep Butt Ting

The Tao’s Work Never Stops

Never stop building history with the Tao.

Everything you do with the Tao becomes part of your “record of life.”

Do not stop practicing. Do not stop using the Tao’s power.

9. 道德不斷 — Doe Duck Butt Duen

Giving Back to the Tao Never Stops

Giving back to the Tao is called virtue (Doe Duck).

When you keep giving back to the source, the flow never breaks. The Tao continues to give to you in return.

10. 道炁常存 — Doe Hei Sheung Chuen

The Tao’s Chi Always Remains

Protect the Tao together with the team. Stay one with it at all times.

You are not separate from the Tao.

You are the Tao, and the Tao is you.
